The European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE)

Welcome to the official website of the European Federation of Education Employers  (EFEE), where you can find up-to-date news about EFEE and its members as well as information on European issues and events relevant to education employers.

The education sector is crucial to progress and development across Europe. As well as encouraging the knowledge and innovation that provides the basis of our society, the education sector employs around 15 million people in the EU and represents approximately 7% of the total workforce in Europe. At European level, EFEE therefore has a crucial role to play in promoting the best interests of its members.

Recently, the European Commission has presented its Europe 2020 Strategy to help Europe emerge from the crisis and prepare its economy for the next decade. Education and training are to play a key role for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

WHAT IS EFEE?
EFEE is a new organisation created to represent the interests of employers in the strategic and highly diverse education sector. We represent education employers from all levels of education, from pre-school to higher education institutions, including different national organisations (education councils, ministries, local and regional authority employers’ organisations).

WHAT DO WE DO?
EFEE works to represent the interests of its members in its role as the European social partner in education, acting as an official dialogue partner to the EU institutions. Together with the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE), EFEE forms the Committee on European Social Dialogue in education. This Social Dialogue focuses on labour issues in the education sector, which is becoming increasingly important as the tendency of European initiatives in the education area increases.
